Stefano

After graduating with diplomas in violin and viola, Stefano Trevisan continued his viola studies with Luca Volpato, Bruno Giuranna, Prof. Wilfried Strehle and string quartet with Prof. Günter Pichler. He currently plays as Assistant Principal Viola in the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.


In 1999, he was awarded First Prize at the national viola Competition in Vittorio Veneto. He was member of the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER (2004) and the European Union Youth Orchestra (2001-2003) and has won auditions for viola tutti (Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice in Venezia, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Qatar National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia), for Assistant Principal Viola (Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia), and for Principal Viola (RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra in Ljubljana, Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona).


As a founding member of the Henao Quartet, he has performed in major concert series and festivals throughout Italy, France, Spain, and Asia. He has taught viola, string quartet and chamber music at the Conservatories of Naples, Padova, Messina, Livorno and Rome, where he currently teaches string quartet. To better understand musicians and the challenges of their profession, he paired his musical studies with a Master’s degree in Psychological Counselling.
