Martín Baeza-Rubio has been Solo-Trumpet of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Filarmonica Toscanini, and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. As a guest Solo-Trumpet he has performed with many of the most important orchestras of the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. From 1997 to 1999, he has been a member of the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER.

Since 2013 Baeza-Rubio is the principal conductor of the Berlin Opera Chamber Orchestra. As Music Director of the Kammerensemble Modern der Deutsche Oper Berlin for 20 years, he has been conducting and playing contemporary music throughout Europe for many years, being responsible for almost sixty premieres. Since 2009 Baeza-Rubio has been the Artistic and Music Director of the Almansa International Music Festival.

Baeza-Rubio studied conducting with Jorma Panula and was strongly influenced by Lorin Maazel and especially Claudio Abbado, with whom he intensively worked. He received numerous appointments, awards and distinctions as a performer and conductor, and recognition for his cultural and educational work both in Spain and abroad. Since 2010 he has served as faculty council and jury member of the Humboldt Foundation and since 2012, he is tutor and jury member of the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER.
