Conductor of the Easter Tour 2010 is Antonio Pappano, Music director of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He toured with the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER for the first time.

David Afkham, winner of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition 2008, is assistant director of the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of 26 and counts as one of the outstanding talents of his generation. In addition to acting as assistant conductor, he conducted the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER as part of the Easter Tour on 11 April 2010 in Lisbon.

With Herbert Blomstedt one of the great conductors of our time returned to the podium of the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER. Amongst others he was chief-conductor of San Francisco Symphony, the Staatskapelle Dresden and of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. He is also conductor laureate of numerous other Orchestras. Herbert Blomstedt first conducted the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER during its 2008 Easter Tour.
