Lisa Batiashvili

 

Lisa Batiashvili, nominated as Gramophone’s Artist of the Year 2017, is this season’s Artist-in-Residence with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome). Praised by audiences and fellow musicians for her virtuosity and “profound sensitivity” (Financial Times), the Georgian-born violinist, who has lived in Germany for over 25 years, has developed long-standing relationships with some of the world’s leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Berlin, Berliner Philharmoniker, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and London Symphony Orchestra. From 2019 Batiashvili will be the Artistic Director of Audi Sommerkonzerte, Ingolstadt.
Lisa Batiashvili appears on the Easter Tour 2018 of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester for the second time after 2009.
 
 
 

Pierre-Laurent Aimard

 

Widely acknowledged as a key figure in the music of our time, Pierre-Laurent Aimard enjoys an internationally-celebrated career that transcends traditional boundaries. 2017 Recipient of the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, Aimard champions music of all periods, from great composers of the past to leading voices of the 20th and 21st centuries, with composers such as Boulez, Ligeti, Kurtág, Messiaen, Benjamin and Carter – among others – having written music especially for him, some in lifelong collaborations.
Pierre-Laurent Aimard returns to the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester Easter Tour 2018, after his first appearance on the Easter Tour 2003.

 

Tamara Stefanovich

 

Known for captivating interpretations of a wide repertoire,
Tamara Stefanovich performs at the world’s major concert
venues including Carnegie Hall New York, Berlin Philharmonie,
Suntory Hall Tokyo and London’s Royal Albert and Wigmore
Halls. She features in international festivals such as La Roque
d’Antheron, Ravenna, Salzburger Festspiele, Styriarte Graz and
Beethovenfest Bonn. Stefanovich has appeared with orchestras
including The Cleveland and Chicago Symphonies, London
Symphony and London Philharmonic orchestras, Bamberger
Symphoniker, Britten Sinfonia, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie
Bremen, and Swedish Chamber Orchestra. On its Easter Tour 2018 Tamara Stefanovich appears for the first time with the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER.

Gautier Capuçon

Gautier Capuçon is a true 21st century ambassador for the cello. Performing each season with many of the world’s foremost conductors and instrumentalists, he is also founder and leader of the “Classe d’Excellence de Violoncelle” at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris – based in the stunning new Auditorium designed by Frank Gehry. He is acclaimed internationally for his deeply expressive musicianship and exuberant virtuosity, as well as for the glorious sonority of his 1701 Matteo Goffriller cello.

Gautier Capuçon appeared with the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER already for the third time in 2018 after 2007 and 2016.
