KIRILL PETRENKO CONDUCTS THE GMJO ON TOUR

The 2024 Spring Tour of the GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER will be conducted by KIRILL PETRENKO, Music Director of the Berliner Philharmoniker.

This special project marks the first collaboration ever of KIRILL PETRENKO and the GMJO; it is also the first time that KIRILL PETRENKO will conduct Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 5.

The GUSTAV MAHLER JUGENDORCHESTER is extremely grateful to its long term residency partner Teatro Verdi Pordenone for hosting the rehearsal period and presenting the first concert of this tour.

Additionally, CHRISTIAN BLEX conducts a special concert at the Teatro Verdi Pordenone, featuring Arnold Schoenberg: Verklarte Nacht / Transfigured Night and Johannes Brahms: Symphony No. 2.

First-time appearances of the GMJO at the Ravenna Festival and the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada follow, as well as the return of the GMJO to the Kursaal Donostia and to the Auditorio Palacio de Congresos Príncipe Felipe de Oviedo. And after exactly twenty years, the GMJO is back at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
